Nana (2005)

Previously, I shared one of the movies that adapted from a Japanese comic,
DMC "Detroit metal city".
This time, I will share another adaptation “Nana”.

Director: Kentarô Ohtani
Duration: 113 minutes
Casts: Mika NakashimaAoi Miyazaki and Hiroki Narimiya

Nana is not only the title of the movie, but also the main character's name. There have two Nanas in the movie, but this is different from the last time. These two Nanas are played by two different actors.
One is Osaki Nana, the punk rock singer and also the band black stones’ vocalist.
Another is Komatsu Nana whose nickname is Hachi in the movie.

This film revolves around music, but is different from the one previously. One example is the style of music. For Nana, the music they play is punk rock style; not only the music is punk rock style but also the way they dress up. In addition, the story line is also very different from DMC. DMC is some sort of a comedy. For Nana, it has a story line which is just like any other band music film. Why do I make this assertion? It is because conflicts happen between band mates or the other band. This is the classic style of most band music film. Still, I love to watch Nana. I like the way director direct this film; it is very realistic, and it seems like a true story.

Moreover, the theme is also very different between these two films. For DMC, the theme is more on dream; the main character wants to achieve his goal, and moves to Tokyo to start his music dream. For Nana, the theme is more on love, Osaki Nana has got hurt by her boyfriend, so she has decides move to Tokyo to look for her boyfriend. It does have common points with DMC, in which the characters in both of these movies also fight for their music dream, but Nana’s theme is more on love.

The Lovely Bones (2009) / Hanna (2011)

Do you recognize who is she?

She is the one who acts as

Susie Salmon in the movie “The Lovely Bones”

&

Hanna in “Hanna”.

That’s right!!  Her name is Saoirse Ronan.
Both of the movies that I just mentioned are movies that I going to introduce.

The Lovely Bones (2009)
The story set in 1970’s, a 14-year-old girl in suburban Pennsylvania is murdered by her neighbor. Susie Salmon (Saoirse Ronan) is an ordinary girl that lives happily with her family. She was given a camera and how she loved to capture a moment before they gone. She even has a crush on a senior. However, there is a man was noticing her every movement, the neighbor George Harvey (Stanley Tucci). One day, the neighbor luring Susie to enter a space under a field which the neighbor saying that is funny place for all the kids in the whole town. That day, she was killed. Susie father’s Jack (Mark Wahlberg) starts to investigate the missing of her daughter. Will their parents able to find out the truth? How is the neighbor consequence?

Hanna (2011)
Hanna (Saoirse Ronan)is a teenage girl. She is a unique person where she has strength, stamina and smart as a soldier. She was trained and raised by her father Erik Heller (Eric Bana), an ex-CIA man. Hanna was made to become a perfectly assassin that she need to memorize a fake background story so that she could hide her truth identity. When she is ready for everything, her father and Hanna start an adventurous of accomplishing a mission.

Saoirse Ronan has perfectly acts two different character in different movie. Both of their characteristics are extremely different.

In “The Lovely Bones”, Saoirse manage to portray Susie as a fragile, innocent little girl. A teenager that wish to learn, try and experience everything. Because of the curiosity, she was killed by her neighbor.  For the movie “Hanna”, Saoirse completely change to another person. Hanna has a tough and cool looking, but at the same time she is warm and soft inside. She experienced the love by someone that she not knows. It is very hard to keep the truth-self inside and still looking cool. However, Saoirse nailed the character.

Final Destination Series

Is time to recommend a new interesting horror movie to you guys.

Tonight,

I would like to introduce this movie “Final Destination”.

It consists of five episodes but their story line is same. It is talking about in a group of people, there is a person has the ability to predict. The person will have a vision before some bad things happen so that they can stop it happening to save their friends. Unfortunately, death does not like to be cheated. No matter how, they also cannot escape their fate although they escaped once from death.

As I am a very picky person, therefore, there is few movies can really impress me much.

I like to watch this movie because I saw how the people pay a painful price for their dishonesty through this movie. It gives me enlightenment, we have to be strong and face it no matter how bad is the situation. Once we have overcome, it is not a problem anymore. Contrary to that, if we try to escape it, there will be more and more difficulties waiting for us in our future. We cannot change our fate, you might escape once, but does not mean you can avoid it every time. It is just not at the right time for you to face the consequences.

Since I did not purposely mentioned any  five plot of episodes.
SO, go watch it now~!!

Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) / Casablanca (1942)

Today, I'm going to introduce 2 classic films
Do not think that classic films is boring because it is boring
Both of the story is very romantic and unforgettable!
So, enjoy!

Breakfast at Tiffany (1961)
A famous movie in the 60`s until now. Not only that, the main character Holly, (Audrey Hepbrum) had become a role icon in the fashion industry. Holly is a character that does not care much of her life but she work hard for her brother. She sometimes tricks her life like a fool. Her life was so clutter with problems that she does run away with it .She got married to a Doc (Buddy Ebsen) with adoption of three children. So she ran off to Broadway that was located in New York City. While her brother Fred in the camp based back in her hometown. She missed her brother so much until she called her new neighbor Paul Varjak (George Peppard), Fred as his nickname. As time goes by, Paul felt in love with Holly. How they will end up? Then you should find out!

Trailer of Breakfast at Tiffany's

Casablanca (1942)
This movie had highly credited because it was produces right after World War One. Therefore, this movie sets was in World War One. Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) was a former fighter back in Europe, who has settle in Casablanca with a café that called as “Rick Café”. One night, here comes his old lover from Paris where they met that is Ilsa Lund (Ingrid Bergman) and with her husband Victor Lazlo (Paul Henreid). He was mad seeing her coming to his café.  Especially when he heard the pianist, Sam (Dooley Wilson) played “as times goes by” while it was requested by Ilsa. So, what will come after next?

Trailer of Casablanca

In `Breakfast at Tiffany’ Holly Golightly met Paul while Doc in search of her in New York. Paul was a shock when Doc told Paul that he was Holy`s husband. As this similar story lines were in `Casablanca’ when Rick met Ilsa back in Paris without knowing that Ilsa was a married woman. When their second meeting in Casablanca, Rick only knew IIsa was married by herself. Both of the ladies in the movies have something in common is they had fallen in love with other guy while their man were not around. Add on to that, both of these movies had love triangle that cause by the ladies.

There are some different in two of this film that is the message of it trying to convey to the audience.  In `Casablanca’ they trying to convey a message about World War One and as for `Breakfast at Tiffany’ the message is about life in Broadway, New York. While at that time most of Americans is trying hard to get in Broadway for glamour.

Both movies are the best movies in all times and it got a lot of prestigious award. That made them in the segment of classical movie. It would be a great movie for a big family with different ages to enjoy watching it together.

“MAMA MIA” is the great movie that you worth to sitting on the sofa with some snacks. It is a story about 20 years old girl, Sophie Sheridan is going to married with her boyfriend, Sky, but she wish to be give away by her father, because she does not know who is her father from the day she born until now. Sophie has invited the three guys that used to be her mother’s lover, which is Sam Carmichael, Bill Anderson, and Harry Bright. Her mother, Donna Sheridan does not know the Sophie’s plan at all. She was surprised when she knew the three guys were in the island. Donna is going to stop the three guys to attend the wedding with her two best friends, Rosie and Tanya and the funny story is about to begin!

By the way, I was addicted one of the songs in the movie, "Mama Mia". The melody is hovering in my mind non-stop! I feel so awesome and shocked by this song, because my mind could not forget about it. Oops! The melody is surfing in my mind again. The song is sung when Donna saw her lovers in her old-goat house. The song is showing her excitement that cannot be cover. By listening the beat, you will feel how excited Donna is just like the moment you meets your first love! You can ask your mother watch along and learn how to dance and sing, typically suitable for every mother! Here is a video clip, which is the scene of the song is being singing.

CLICK & LISTEN NOW!

Beside Mama Mia, there are lot songs which impress me deeplyone of the songs is "Dancing Queen". “Wuuhoo, see that girl…Watch that scene…dig in the Dancing Queen…” What an awesome song, original from Abba. Rosie and Tanya cheer up Donna by this song when Donna felt lost to facing the three lovers. This song has call on all the female in the town to dance along. All the female dance confidently, no matter how old they are.
Now, I was imagining the picture of my grandmother dancing with them.

By watching this scene, I realized that dance and music is unrestraint thing that everyone can own. I used to feel weird when my grandmother is dancing front of us, but now I would not. Anyways, there are a lot of things that impress me beside the song. Want to know what is that? Quickly watch this movie now!

Wrong Turn (2003)

Guys, Let's have some Horrible Movie to make your life more excited!
Previously, I have shared a horror movie that I love so much with you guys. I would like to introduce another horror movie entitle..

“ Wrong Turn

Wrong Turn(2003)
Director: Joe Lynch
Duration: 93 minutes

It consists of 4 episodes. The 4 episodes of movie have the same storyline which is talking about a group of people went for their vacations and met an adventure tour. While on the way to the destinations, they lost their directions. But, they simply used the different route instead of asking assistance from others to have a proper direction. And now, the thrilling story started. The group of people never knew that actually they went into the cannibals’ village. When they discovered miscellaneous objects and human body parts, that time was too late for them to escape. The cannibals had smelled the human breath and they wanted to find out the humans. Horrific made them to escape.

There is a lot of people do not like to watch horror movie, but they never know that actually we can also learn something from the movie.

From “Wrong Turn”, it taught me a lesson which is we should not act rashly and blindly if we are not entirely sure. Contrary to that, we should be humble and seek for help from the people who have experience. If the people in the movie are willing to ask for help from others in order to get the correct direction, then they will not go into wrong way that leads to cannibal village.

Furthermore, it also taught me that we have to be cautious before making a decision as it can make changes and affect the result. Once we have made the wrong decision, we have to face the consequence. We must always remember do not let things happen to know what is regrettable.
Therefore, we should have second thoughts before we make decisions.

Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone (2001)

Yes it is!

Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone (2001)

Director: Chris Columbus
Duration: 152 minutes
Cast: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert GrintRichard Harris and Emma Watson

Sure you will know this is the 1st episode wallpaper of Harry Potter movie – “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”. Did you ever dream becoming one of the magicians in the reality? Then, you would like to watch the whole series of this movie.

Harry Potter is one of my favorite movies that are not a horror genre. There are total eight episodes of harry potter which the last episode has divided into two parts. The story of Harry Potter is actually originated from the best selling of well-known novel named “Harry Potter” that written by J.K. Rowling.

Throughout all the episode of the movie, the most memorable episode for me is the 1st episode.  The story begins an ordinary 11 years old boy named Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) has been invited to attend the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. He then learns that his parents were wizards and were killed by Voldemort – the evil wizard – but not died in a car accident. Sooner, he with his new best friends Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) has gone through an adventurous yet dangerous along the way in the story.

I am sorry to say that, Hermione Granger is my favor character in the movie. As a daughter of muggles, (named as people who do not know how to use magic) she definitely shows how diligent and bold to represents a muggle-born witch. She always looked down by some of her classmate and always gets humiliated. However, since she has the positive mind, she always dares to challenge and ignore them. In this case, it has reflects the reality world that most of the people likes to looked down by your background and do not even give you a chance to prove them wrong. Therefore, I think that Hermione is a role model that we should be learned.

Emma Watson’s acting skills was outstanding. She was cast as Hermione at the age of nine. The producer was amazed and impressed by her confidence. I was admired her confident to act as Hermione when she was nine years old. For me, at the age of nine, I might still a shy boy that hides behind my parent’s shirt when someone calls me casting.

Here is the trailer~

Here are all the magics that appears in the Harry Potter Movies.
Hope you like it~XD

Detroit Metal City (2008)

Konnichiwa, minasan.
Obviously tonight we want to introduce one of the Japanese movies which are Detroit Metal City.
So, tanoshimu (enjoy) XD.

Director: Toshio Lee
Cast: Ken'ichi Matsuyama, Yoshihiko Hosoda and Ryûji Akiyama
Duration: 110 minutes

Detroit Metal City (DMC) is one of the movies that adapted from a Japanese comic. DMC is a movie which talks about music. The main character, Soichi Negishi came from a small village and moved to the capital of Japan (Tokyo) to fulfill his dream of studies and playing music in expertise way. When he arrived at Tokyo, many of them do not like his sense of music, therefore he always got ignore. He then applied a job as a band guitarist in the pub. In this moment, a person name Johannes Krauser II has born and the story begins.

The two identities, Soichi Negishi and also Johannes Krauser II were actually acted by one actor named (Ken'ichi Matsuyama). I was amazed by the way he acting. Because the two characters has extremely different characteristic in the movie and yet he brings out the character itself. The one who looks nerdy and sissy is Soichi Negishi, whereas the otherwho is fierce and rude is Johannes Krauser II. I love the way the way he plays this two identities, how the actor play with the emotion, attitude and action. He definitely brings out the character itself.

Left (Johannes Krauser II) Right (Soichi Negishi)

I like the story line of this movie because it is funny. The main character from a nerdy image change to the rude image and the main character play the two identities and express his emotions. Although people use a lot of foul language in the movie, but for me these are the things that the cast needs to bring out the characters.

High School Musical (2006)

Ready to get some MUSIC, DANCE IN THE MOVIE? Then YOU shouldn't be miss this!

Director: Kenny Ortega
Duration: 98 minutes
Cast: Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale and etc.

There are three episodes in series of High School Musical. These three episodes are connected. It is about a group of teenagers who owns a dream in East High School. They are passionate to their dream and dare to do anything they want. Besides, this movie also contained romantic love story of Troy Bolton (Zac Efron) and Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Hudgens). Troy Bolton is captain of the basketball team, whereas Gabriella Montez was transferred student who excel in Mathematics and Science. Even though they are from two different worlds, however both of them have one common thing which they like to dance, sing and perform. Through the end of the movie, you will see how they get over the problems from their family and friends with their immovable spirit and immense enthusiasm.

In the movie, their dance and vocal is awesome! Especially the first song in the beginning of episodes 3, “High School Musical 3: Senior Year”.The producer also smartly plays the music to elicit the expected audience’s emotion in High School Musical 2, such as:

Gotta Go On My Own Way

This song had played when Gabriella felt that Troy no longer same as before, so she has decided to break up with him. The melody and lyrics are perfectly attachable to the pictures. Plus on, the song has brought out the right feeling rather than the dialogues. It is the amazing part of musical movie!

However, my favor part is in episode 3 that how Troy decide his future and pleasure family, friends and lover. It makes me think of my high school life. When I am going to graduate, I am so confused in my future. I have to face pressure from my family because they want me to take business program, but my friends want to me to do ACCA with them. In the end, I did something same as Troy, which is heading to own dream but pleasure everyone. How was it done? Figure it out by watching this movie! And, if you were a person who likes music, you would fall into this movie of any episodes!

Gone Wth The Wind (1939)

Hello again~XD Today we are going to recommend everyone to watch 1930's movie.
Although the duration is long, but is worth to watch it~
ENJOY!
Gone with the Wind (1939)
Director: Victor Felming &George Cukor
Producer: David O Selvick
Genre: Adaption, Drama, Romance

This movie is taken from a novel written by Magaret Mitchell. It was set back in American Civil War. Scarlett O Hara (Vivien Leigh) was hired by the producer to plays in a character that to be an outspoken and spoiled lady.  She was interested to a Ashley Wilkes(Leslie Howard) that already proposed to Melaine (Olivia de Halvard).
Rhett Butler(Clark Gable) is a man of pragmatist than a idealist came to Scarlett`s life. He is an army. He fell in love with Scarlett but she wasn’t into him. Scarlett had influence Rhett to overturn the southern way of life. When Scarlet`s family in Tara got some problem in their income from the plantation.  So she had to married to Rhett to saved her family`s plantation in Tara from the civil war. Although she had married to Rhett but her heart was still in Ashley.
It`s an interesting piece of film from the 30`s for me as a moviegoer. As my understanding what is this film was trying to show.  The film is trying to portray Scarlett as an outgoing and open minded lady at that century. She was different from the rest of ladies in that century but for us in this century is a just an ordinary lady living it. Because of that she was captivated by Rhett. At last she was a window before marrying to Rhett .She is also a strong, capable and smart lady. It does show when Scarlett was out from Tara, she was staying with Melaine while the country was at war. She took care of Melaine while Ashley was out at war and those armies were badly injured. At the meantime she was trying to get herself, Melaine and some servant out from war. She begged Rhett with the help of transportation and some cash.
Although is an old and long movie to be watch at these period of time but it `s a worth wild movie to be enjoy. This would be a nice classical romance movie to be watching it over and over again.

Saw (2004)

Evening everyone~ Are you watching any movie? I bet you wouldn’t want to miss this
HORROR MOVIE
that I want to introduce to you all.

SAW (2004)
Director: James Wan
Duration: 110 minutes

Saw” is one of the horror movies that I love so much. It has 7 episodes. The story is talking about how a genius engineer misused his intelligence to invent the instruments to punish people. Initially the engineer, John Kramer, also known as Jigsaw killer, he lived happiness with his wife and his unborn baby. Because of a robbery that led his baby died, he became devastated.

After that, he met a severe car accident, along with it; he received news from doctor that he got cancer. With all these happened, he thought that the world was against him, the life was so unfair. From that time, he twisted the value. He used his talent and started to invent a certain violent device to punish and torture those people who do not appreciate lives, people who simply discriminate others and many other reasons.

I feel that there is a lot of unfairness and challenges in the world. No matter how much pain John had suffered, he did not have the right to punish people with his twisted mind.

There is one scene that impressed me so much where John wanted to punish a British guy who was always discriminating others, he used a type of strong glue to stick the man on the cushion. After that, he wanted the man complete a task, if he fails, his friends would die. His purpose to do so was because he wanted the man to realize in spite of the difference complexion people possess underneath the skin, we all are the same.

I think that his intention was good but I do not agree with the way he dealt with the situation. He would have opted for other methods instead of using violent punishment. This was the consequence of his unsound mind which led to the death of numerous people when they failed to complete the mission. Sometimes we might encounter a lot of barriers, it is the path of our lives, we should try to overcome it but not to take revenge on the world.
